The property is least 260 years old, and was built before the rebelion of the Jacobites in 1746.

We are on the western side of Carlisle, quite close to the River Eden and the famous Hadrian’s Wall pathway. The tourist bus AD112 travels from the northeast to the northwest along Hadrian’s wall route, and stops outside our house, to collect passengers before going on to Bowness on Solway or into Carlisle.
